quantifying the unquantifiable

a long time ago behaviouralists in political science(those that wished to make political sciene a complete science like the physical sciences) were accused of trying to measure the immeasureable and quantifying the unquantifiable..............this AS THE SOUGHT TO MAP OUT HUMAN BEHAVIOUR IN POLITICAL SCIENCE.....
as i attempt to sit in the discomfort of my study and try to map out a course of study through the rapids of mains i wonder if i am too falling prey to the same error.......it is absolute torture to offer a refined analysis of previous years papers and the broad trends to make a plan this year around....though only half way into my work there is a nagging thought wondering if the whole exercise is futile.....but for now keeping my horses in check i plan to stay the course...hope i am on the right track but if im not,at least next time around i know which is the wrong one!!!!!!
